Talent is Earned, Not Given

After watching and listening to Anthony Jones' talk about talent vs. creativity, one thing in particular he mentioned stood out to me: "Talent is earned, not given." Many people think that talent is something people are born with, however, this is not the case. Patience and resilience are what make someone talented. For instance, LeBron James was born in a poor family, moving from house to house but has become one of the most successful basketball players of all time by practicing and being resilient. Anthony Jones was definitely correct: being successful at something takes patience and resilience.
